I don't even know where to begin my sweet boy. You are rockin 15 months like nobody's business! This week alone you have made so much progress. You're smiling so much these days and it makes my momma heart explode every time I see those two little top teeth shining white through your grin. We have worked hard to love that smile back to your face and this week you've sure shown us it's working. For so long you would only smile or giggle when we tickeled you or first thing in the morning when you woke up and I would come to your crib. But now several times during the day you'll make eye contact with me and smile back with your toothy grin. You'll smile and even giggle at your brother now. You seem to have really decided you like him lately. You'll crawl over to him and give him kisses when you first see him each morning. You pat pat pat his face and like to lay close to him or rest your head on his belly. You still take his toys but he's starting to put up a fight and you're not so sure you like that. You're also not too fond on his hair pulling gestures of love. And boy are you on the GO! You're still working on staying up on your hands and knees but you've developed your own little army crawl and you sure get wherever you want to go. You've been crawling into the kitchen a lot at night while I'm cooking dinner and despite all my chastising, you love it when the dogs give you kisses right on the mouth. You open your mouth wide and give them kisses right back...yuck!!
You still love music and spend so much time studying your books. When I read to you, you let me know story time isn't over by fussing at me if I quit too soon. You've very much learned to communicate what you want. This became very apparent at the ice cream parlor this past weekend. Daddy insisted it was time for you to try ice cream. And he shared his with you until it was gone. If I didn't give you bites fast enough you would YELL at us! The few bites of daddy's wasn't enough for you so Nana and Poppie got you your very own first scoop of ice cream and you ate every single bite! I think it's safe to say you like ice cream just like your big brother and your Daddy.
Oh Hamilton, I'm simply in awe of you when I think about all you've endured in your short 15months... The initial loneliness, the transitions you've adjusted to, the stimulation you've soaked in, the physical strength you've developed over the last 3 months, the trust you've had to develop to let us in and believe that we will in fact always be there to love and provide for you...my sweet boy you sure are special. Mommy loves you so much and still can't believe how luckily we are that you are our son.
